Announcing the Winners of the 4th Annual PlanGrid Axe Photo Contest

Get Inspired by This Year’s Top Construction Photos

The creators, the shapers, the makers. Builders are our world’s unsung heroes as to create something out of practically nothing is an incredible feat. However, it’s just a day in a life for your average construction worker. Winston Churchill once said, “We shape our buildings; thereafter they shape us.” And this couldn’t be truer today. Construction workers play a huge role in not only building our cities but also in forming our lives by creating our offices, social spaces and homes we reside in.

This year, we got to see a behind the scenes (scaffolding) look at how these unsung heroes of construction are a part of building our lives from the over 300 photos we received from the 4th Annual PlanGrid Axe Photo Contest. From shiny and recently completed projects, unexpected views of walls filled with intricate wiring, to the boots on the ground bravely working from dramatic heights, we were blown away by the snapshots that were submitted and the stories that they told. Following our contest theme, “Show Us Your Craft,” we saw top construction photo submissions on a whole new level from past years in the three categories: Picture Perfect, Hidden Beauty and A Day in a Life.

We want to extend a huge thank you to all our contest participants for sharing your stories and construction masterpieces with us. Without further ado, below, you’ll find (and hopefully will be inspired) by the top construction photos from the contest:

“PlanGrid has revolutionized the simplicity of my team’s everyday life. As a Construction Manager we are responsible for every trade on the job. Each trade has their own volume in the Contract drawing and their own set of shop drawing on top of that. No longer are we lugging around thousands of pages of drawings and spec books.”
